A survey carried out by Right Casino Media has found that UK households are in favour of televised gambling.
In total 1,000 households were asked with 49% saying that they were indifferent and 28% saying that they were in favour of gambling via the TV.
Television gambling is one of the latest developments in the gambling industry and takes advantage of the growth in digital TV.
At present there are three UK casino sites which offer TV gambling, they all broadcast roulette games every day of the week and there are now interactive TV apps which allow viewers to place bets while watching sport on television.
While 28% of respondents to the survey were in favour, they did stipulate that broadcasts should be late at night, with strict Ofcom regulation and the option for parents to block certain channels and programmes from children.
The UK is a global leader in social and mobile gambling with its well regulated gaming market quickly becoming the testing ground for Facebook’s first real money casino app and the first real money casino app in the Apple iTunes app store.
As 4G mobile coverage is rolled out over the coming months it is expected that the mobile gambling market will continue to rapidly expand.
