A woman has won £51,000 on the lottery by using her former partner’s numbers. Lisa Forgie, from Aberdeen, broke up with her boyfriend twelve number of years ago but has continued to play the lottery with his lucky numbers.
She was recently shocked to discover that she had matched five numbers together with the bonus ball to win a total of £51,355. It seems that her ex-partner stopped using these numbers himself but luckily he doesn’t seem remotely bitter about Lisa’s win as he passed her a message of congratulations through a mutual friend of theirs.
Lisa is currently engaged to Neil Robertson and the pair are huge Formula 1 fans, they even named their son Ayrton and the Formula 1 legend Ayrton Senna. They are hoping to spend some of their prize money on a new house as well as a trip to South America in order to see their racing favourites up close.
Luck generally seems to be on Lisa’s side. She recently won £1,000 in a local radio competition and has also enjoyed a number of bingo wins. However, she said she found it hard to believe her lottery win, “To start with I thought it said £51.35. It took a double take to realise. I was shocked and the colour drained from my face. I started shaking”.
This weekend there is an impressive £28 million to be won from the EuroMillions lottery and £2.1 million from the UK National Lottery. Perhaps the weekend’s draws will see another winner capitalise on their ex-partner’s lucky numbers and claim some winnings of their own.
