The content and systems developer Betdigital has become one of the first companies to receive a Remote Gambling Software Operating License from the UK Gambling Commission. The license means that the Commission has decided that Betdigital has met all the requirements to adhere to the new Gambling (Licensing and Advertising) Act that is coming into effect in the UK from October.Under the new Act, all operators that offer a remote (online) gambling service to British consumers need to acquire a UK license.
Furthermore, from January of next year the operators must ensure that their suppliers are also licensed in the UK.
The chief executive officer of Betdigital, Heath Samples, said in a statement that receiving the Remote Gambling Software Operating License means that customers can be sure that their content is safe to enjoy under the new Gambling Commission regulations.
He went on to say that “as market leaders” it is essential that they stay one step ahead when operating in such a fast-paced and expanding industry.
In addition to the Remote Gambling Software Operating License, Betdigital also received a Core Service Provider Associates Certificate from the Alderney Gambling Control Commission earlier this year.
