On Saturday afternoon Newcastle travels the Emirates Stadium to take on Arsenal in the Premier League.
Newcastle hasn’t won back-to-back away games against Arsenal since 1957, however, Arsenal are looking strong having just won three games in a row. Arsenal’s form is reflected in the betting odds, bookies are offering 4/7 on a Gunners victory while the best on the Magpies is 6/1.
Both Mikel Arteta and Aaron Ramsey are ready to return to Arsenal, however, they might not both be starting due to the impressive performances of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Tomas Rosicky against AC Milan earlier this week.
The team will also be benefiting from the return of Andre Santos who was out injured for three months.
Newcastle is likely to be missing Yossi Benayoun but Shola Ameobi could return from illness. Peter Lovenkrands, Sammy Ameobi and Leon Best are all expected to be side-lined.
Arsenal is five points ahead of Newcastle in fourth place. A win would place them just one point behind Tottenham. However, Arsenal has lost its last three Premier League meetings with Newcastle; the last time they won was in March 2009.
On the other hand they did beat them 4-0 in the League Cup last season.
